Background InformationDeath inducer obliterator 3 (Dido3) is a transcription factor encoded by the DIDO1 (also known as BYE1, DIO1, DATF1, DIDO2, DIDO3) gene in human. Three other isoforms, including Dido1 & 2 (isoform 2 & 1, respectively), are also encoded by the same gene through alternative splicing. In addition to early research activities regarding apoptosis-inducing activity of Dido proteins, later studies reveal important roles of Dido1 & Dido3 (isoform 4) in maintaining stem cell genomic stability and self-renewal (PMID 23831028 & 24347171). Dido3 binds histone H3K4me3 in the nucleus. Histone H3T3 or H3T6 phosphorylation causes H3K4 demethylation and Dido3 translocation from chromatin to the mitotic spindle. Anti-Dido3, Cat. No. ABC480, does not cross-react with Dido1 or Dido2.
