      Control
      • Included free of charge with the antibody is 40 μg of control antigen (lyophilized powder). The stock solution of the antigen can be made up using 100 μL of sterile deionized water. For negative control, preincubate 1 μg of peptide with 1 μg of antibody for one hour at room temperature. Optimal concentrations must be determined by the end user.
PresentationLyophilized from phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA, and 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative. Reconstitute with 200 uL of sterile deionized water. Centrifuge antibody preparation before use (10,000 xg for 5 min).

      Entrez Gene Number
Entrez Gene SummaryTRPCs, mammalian homologs of the Drosophila transient receptor potential (trp) protein, are ion channels that are thought to mediate capacitative calcium entry into the cell. TRP-PLIK is a protein that is both an ion channel and a kinase. As a channel, it conducts calcium and monovalent cations to depolarize cells and increase intracellular calcium. As a kinase, it is capable of phosphorylating itself and other substrates. The kinase activity is necessary for channel function, as shown by its dependence on intracellular ATP and by the kinase mutants.[supplied by OMIM]

      UniProt Number
UniProt SummaryFUNCTION: SwissProt: Q96QT4 # Essential ion channel and serine/threonine-protein kinase. Divalent cation channel permeable to calcium and magnesium. Has a central role in magnesium ion homeostasis and in the regulation of anoxic neuronal cell death. The kinase activity is essential for the channel function. May be involved in a fundamental process that adjusts plasma membrane divalent cation fluxes according to the metabolic state of the cell. Phosphorylates annexin A1 (ANXA1).
COFACTOR: Binds 1 zinc ion per subunit (By similarity).
SIZE: 1865 amino acids; 212697 Da
SUBUNIT: Homodimer (By similarity). Forms heterodimers with TRPM6.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein (Probable).
      PTM: Autophosphorylated (By similarity).
DISEASE: SwissProt: Q96QT4 # Defects in TRPM7 influences susceptibility to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis-parkinsonism/dementia complex type 1 [MIM:105500]; also called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis- parkinsonism/dementia complex of Guam or Guam disease. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis-parkinsonism/dementia complex type 1 is a neurodengenerative disorder with unusually high incidence among the Chamorro people of the Western Pacific Islands of Guam. Both amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and parkinsonism-dementia are chronic, progressive, and uniformly fatal disorders in this population. Both diseases are known to occur in the same kindred, the same sibship, and even the same individual.
SIMILARITY: SwissProt: Q96QT4 ## In the N-terminal section; belongs to the transient receptor family. LTrpC subfamily. & Contains 1 alpha-type protein kinase domain.
