New IsoBag™: Fast, safe transfer of plates to isolator
One of, if not, the main productivity concern in sterile drug manufacturing has always been facilitating efficient and safe workflow processes, particularly when using isolators. To solve this potentially dangerous issue, Merck has launched its new IsoBag™ – an extension of our comprehensive portfolio of products designed for isolators and cleanrooms – in order to ease the environmental monitoring workflow in aseptic production isolators by using gamma-irradiated contact or settle plates that do not need the traditional decontamination step (yes, you heard that correctly: one entire step of the process is eliminated by using our IsoBag™).
With this unique and exciting new product – the IsoBag™ – contact and settle plates do not need to be placed into the isolator to be decontaminated before use, eliminating an entire step in the process and keeping those plates available for use at any time. Unlike traditional methods, where single-bagged plates are decontaminated and stored in the isolater, limiting space and often interrupting workflow, with our IsoBag™, plates are mounted to the isolator’s port and used directly since they are already gamma-irradiated (ready-to-use). In addition to safety and efficiency, the process also frees up time and saves money.
Our IsoBag™ includes contact or settle plates with TSA + LTHTh in lockable and non-lockable options. Plates are also traceable to corresponding batches of ICR plates and include transparent, VHP-impermeable barrier packaging.
