FormatAffinity Purified
Control
  • CONTROL ANTIGEN: Included free of charge with the antibody is 40 μg of control antigen (lyophilized powder). The stock solution of the antigen can be made up using 100 μL of sterile deionized water. For negative control, preincubate 1 μg of purified peptide with 1 μg of antibody for one hour at room temperature. Optimal concentrations must be determined by the end user.
PresentationAffinity purified immunoglobulin. Lyophilized from phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA, 5% sucrose as a stabilizer and 0.025% sodium azide as a preservative. Reconstitute with 200 μL of sterile deionized water. Centrifuge antibody preparation before use (10,000 xg for 5 min).
Quality LevelMQ100
Applications
ApplicationAnti-Potassium Channel TASK1 Antibody detects level of Potassium Channel TASK1 & has been published & validated for use in IH & WB.
Key Applications
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • Western Blotting
Application NotesWestern blot: 1:200 using ECL on rat brain membranes.

Immunohistochemistry on rat brain sections.

Dilutions should be made using a carrier protein such as BSA (1-3%)

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.
Biological Information
ImmunogenA purified peptide (TASK) corresponding to amino acid residues 252-269 in the cytoplasmic C-terminus of human TASK1 (Accession O14649).
ConcentrationPlease refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
HostRabbit
SpecificityThe epitope is specific for TASK1 and is not present in any other known proteins tested so far.

SPECIES REACTIVITIES: The epitope is also highly conserved between mouse and rat (17/18 residues identical) but other species have not been tested.

Antibody TypePolyclonal Antibody
Entrez Gene Number
Entrez Gene SummaryThis gene encodes a member of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins that contain two pore-forming P domains. The encoded protein is an outwardly rectifying channel that is sensitive to changes in extracellular pH and is inhibited by extracellular acidification. Also referred to as an acid-sensitive potassium channel, it is activated by the anesthetics halothane and isoflurane. Although three transcripts are detected in northern blots, there is currently no sequence available to confirm transcript variants for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

UniProt Number
UniProt SummaryFUNCTION: pH-dependent, voltage-insensitive, background potassium channel protein. Rectification direction results from potassium ion concentration on either side of the membrane. Acts as an outward rectifier when external potassium concentration is low. When external potassium concentration is high, current is inward.
SIZE: 43518 Da [This is the MW of the unprocessed precursor].
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein (Potential).
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Widespread expression in adult. Strongest expression in pancreas and placenta. Lower expression in brain, lung, prostate, heart, kidney, uterus, small intestine and colon.
MISCELLANEOUS: Inhibited by external acidification. Activated by halothane and isoflurane.
SIMILARITY: Belongs to the two pore domain potassium channel (TC 1.A.1.8) family.
