Formulation Box - Solid
Bioavailability Enhancement

Course Description

The Formulation Box is a unique virtual training concept consisting of 3 main pillars:

  1. Formulation box
  2. Virtual event
  3. 1:1 meeting
Catalogue number: GLBENG_PS_SFB_BAE01
Dates & Venue

The course will be held virtually starting with Training Module I on December 6th, 2022.

After registration the formulation box will be shipped to your lab. The training is divided into 3 simple steps:

  1. Training Module I: In a virtual training session you will gain insights into tools that can help you tackle bioavailability challenges in solid formulation development.
  2. Sample Testing: Now you can apply what you have learned and make use of the samples of our functional excipients in your own lab.
  3. Training Module II: Four to six weeks after Training Module I you have the opportunity to attend a 1:1 meeting with one of our solid formulation experts. This is the perfect opportunity for a deeper discussion on your specific experience with our functional excipients.

The maximum number of participants is restricted to 15. You will receive a final confirmation e-mail. We reserve the right to cancel the seminar if a minimum number of registrations is not reached.

Course Cost
  • Participation in both sessions: Module I: virtual event & Module II: consultancy session is required. Therefore, the box, the virtual training and the consultancy session are free of charge.
  • For any kind of further questions, please contact AFCustomerTraining@merckgroup.com
Learning Goals
  • How the developability classification system (DCS) emerged from the well-established biopharmaceutics classification system (BCS)
  • How the DCS can be used for targeted formulation development of compounds with limited dissolution or solubility
  • Deeper insights into how functional excipients can support in solving bioavailability challenges through multiple case studies
Who should attend?

This course is designed for pharmaceutical industry scientists, lab technicians, engineers, and managers who are engaged in the development and process optimization of small molecule APIs and final solid dosage formulation science.

What will you receive?
  • Excipient samples
  • Complementary literature
  • Access to our Formulation Handbook
  • Exchange on solid formulation challenges
