A Range of Columns for Efficient Liquid-Liquid Extraction |
EXtrelut® NT columns offer significant benefits for liquid-liquid extraction by replacing the separation funnel. In contrast to the classical method of extraction, the columns avoid the formation of emulsions. They also enable quantitative extractions to be carried out in one step, thus drastically reducing solvent consumption and extraction time. As a result, EXtrelut® NT columns greatly increase the efficiency, simplicity and effectiveness of sample preparation for chromatography.
Depending on the sample volume, three types of columns are available: EXtrelut® NT 1, EXtrelut® NT 3, and EXtrelut® NT 20.
EXtrelut NT® extraction columns | Outlet cannulae | Maximum sample volume 1) (ml) | Waiting period 2) (before elution) (min) | Recommended elution volume 3) (ml) |
---|---|---|---|---|
EXtrelut® NT1 |
0.60 x 30 mm | 1 | 5-10 | 6 |
EXtrelut® NT3 |
0.60 x 30 mm | 3 | 5-10 | 15 |
EXtrelut® NT20 |
0.70 x 30 mm | 20 | 10-15 | 40 |
Other column options are also offered to suit various application requirements. Glass columns, for example, are particularly recommended for achieving a high degree of purity for subsequent analyses. EXtrelut® NT 20 is a special polyethylene column that avoids contamination of the sample, which may occur when using conventional plastics and plasticizers. This advantage also applies to the special adhesive-free glass fiber and pure paper filters.
