      DescriptionAnti-peptidyl-citrulline, clone F95 Antibody
      Alternate Names
      • Peptidyl-citrulline
      • Protein-bound citrulline
Background InformationDeimination (citrullination) is a post translational modification in which the peptidyl-arginine deiminase family of enzymes convert the guanidino side chain of the amino acid arginine into a ureido group, yeilding peptidyl-citrulline. As a result, anti-peptidyl-citrulline antibodies should also cross react with peptidyl-homocitrulline, produced by the carbamylation of lysine, but not free citrulline, which is created in the urea cycle, or as a by-product of nitric oxide synthesis.
