DescriptionRabbit polyclonal antibody supplied as undiluted serum. Recognizes the ~180 kDa IRS-2 protein.
BackgroundUpon insulin stimulation, IRS proteins are phosphorylated by insulin receptor tyrosine kinase. Decreased levels of IRS proteins are associated with insulin resistance in humans. IRS-2 can serve as an alternative insulin substrate in IRS-1 deficient mice.
