      Revision05-September-2007 RFH
      ApplicationImmunoblotting (2.5 µg/ml)
      Immunofluorescence (1 µg/ml)
DescriptionPurified mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with P3-X63-Ag8-653 mouse myeloma cells. Recognizes the golgi apparatus protein.
BackgroundThe golgi compartment occupies a key juxtanuclear area in the cell and has been well defined biochemically. Within the golgi apparatus there is a population of proteins that are maintained that are crucial for specifying localization with the organelle and for specifying the positioning and composition of the golgi itself. The golgi apparatus is responsible for trafficking of proteins through the cell and also serves as a storage site for both soluble and membrane localized proteins. The golgi apparatus is intimately associated with the ER and the microtuble cytoskeleton and the flow between the various compartments is a dynamic environment.
