      Revision06-April-2009 RFH
      ApplicationDirect Immunoassay (1:2500)
DescriptionRecombinant protein G, a cell-surface protein of Streptococcus species, binds to the Fc portions of immunoglobulins from various species. Like protein A, it is a versatile and economical means to isolate, detect and purify antibodies produced by many animals. It is especially valued because of its ability to react with human IgG3 and a number of animal immunoglobulins with which protein A does not react well (i.e., bovine goat, horse, rat and sheep). It also reacts more strongly with mouse immunoglobulins than protein A. Additionally, unlike protein A, it does not react with IgA, IgE, and IgM. Useful for detection of primary antibodies by various immunoassay methods at an average dilution of 1:2500.
