      DescriptionOmniPur® Enviro-Coat is a ready-to-use, safe alternative to silane for coating glassware to be used in acrylamide electrophoresis applications. Enviro-Coat provides a hydrophobic layer that outperforms the best silane coatings. With Enviro-Coat, coated plates can be reused several times with a single application and still allow for smooth and complete transfer of gels without breaking or gel/plate adhesion.

      Recommended reaction conditions

      Protocol for Use:

      1. Avoid contact of Enviro-Coat to plastic surfaces since damage can occur.
      2. With a soft cloth or lab towel apply approximately 5 ml of Enviro-Coat liberally to the surface of one plate.
      3. Spread evenly to ensure that the surface of the plate is completely covered.
      4. Allow to dry for about 5 min.
      5. Buff plate with soft cloth or lab towel to remove excess Enviro-Coat. The plate may look hazy after this process. To eliminate confusion, denote which plate side is coated for re-use in future procedures without reapplication of Enviro-Coat (e.g., use a permanent marker).
      6. Assemble plates and pour gel.
