              Asam-asam anorganik dan anhidrida pertama-tama harus diencerkan atau dihidrolisa dengan diaduk hati-hati ke dalam air es, kemudian dinetralisir (sarung tangan pelindung, lemari uap!) dengan larutan natrium hidroksida (Kat. No. 105587). Sebelum dimasukkan ke dalam ke wadah D, periksa derajat keasaman (pH) dengan indikator pH universal (Kat. No. 109535). Asam sulfat yang mudah menguap harus diaduk dan diteteskan secara hati-hati ke dalam 40 % asam sulfat (Kat. No. 109286). Pastikan gunakan es secukupnya untuk pendinginan! Jika sudah cukup dingin, perlakukan asam sulfat pekat seperti yang telah dijelaskan sebelumnya. Seiring dengan prosedur ini, anhydrida yang lain dapat dikonversikan ke asam-asam turunannya. Gas-gas asam (hidrogen bromida, hidrogen klorida dan hidrogen iodida, klorin, fosgen, belerang dioksida) harus dibuihkan ke dalam larutan natrium hidroksida encer dan setelah dinetralisir, tampung ke dalam wadah D.
