      Description
OverviewA brain-penetrating 11-mer peptide derived from the active region of human ciliary neurotrophic factor (CTNF; aa 146-156) that rescues autism sera-induced cell death and oxidative stress in mouse cultured cortical neurons in a dose-dependent manner (5 nM to 1 µM). Also shown to abrogate behavioral autistic phenotype in autism sera induced rat model. Exerts its neuroprotective effect by modulating CNTF/JAK/STAT pathway and LIF signaling and by enhancing the expression of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Enhances hippocampus-dependent learning and memory, increased neurogenesis and neuronal plasticity in normal adult mice. Exhibits desirable plasma half-life (6 hours) and is devoid of any adverse effects normally associated with the full-length protein. Potentiates neurogenesis in the AβPP Tg mice by augmenting cell proliferation.

Please note that the molecular weight for this compound is batch-specific due to variable water content. Please refer to the vial label or the certificate of analysis for the batch-specific molecular weight. The molecular weight provided represents the baseline molecular weight without water.
