Our broad portfolio consists of multiplex panels that allow you to choose, within the panel, analytes that best meet your needs. On a separate tab you can choose the premixed cytokine format or a single plex kit.
Cell Signaling Kits & MAPmates™
Choose fixed kits that allow you to explore entire pathways or processes. Or design your own kits by choosing single plex MAPmates™, following the provided guidelines.
The following MAPmates™ should not be plexed together:
-MAPmates™ that require a different assay buffer
-Phospho-specific and total MAPmate™ pairs, e.g. total GSK3β and GSK3β (Ser 9)
-PanTyr and site-specific MAPmates™, e.g. Phospho-EGF Receptor and phospho-STAT1 (Tyr701)
-More than 1 phospho-MAPmate™ for a single target (Akt, STAT3)
-GAPDH and β-Tubulin cannot be plexed with kits or MAPmates™ containing panTyr

Webinar: Serum Alternatives for Adult Stem Cell Expansion
In this webinar, Allan Dietz, Ph.D., Scientific Director of the Human Cell Therapy Laboratory (HCTL) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota will describe considerations for the effective use of PLTMax® in planar and bioreactor-based expansion, and the potential for how this unique reagent will change approaches to cell culture.
The Human Mesenchymal-XF Expansion Medium is a xeno-free medium specially formulated for the rapid expansion of human mesenchymal stem cells isolated from a variety of sources, including adipose and bone marrow tissues while maintaining multi-lineage differenitation potential.
Complete medium that contains all the necessary growth factors and supplements to support human mesenchymal stem cell growth.
All components used within the media are of human origin and do not contain any animal derived components.
A separate ECM solution is not required to facilitate cell attachment.
Improved expansion of human adipose derived MSCs (Cat. No. SCC038) over multiple passages in Human Mesenchymal-XF Expansion Medium vs. commercial and low serum competitors.
A Superior Alternative to FBS for Human MSC Cultures
With the increasing interest and utilization of human cellular therapy, PLTMax® Human Platelet Lysate meets the need for a research grade cell culture supplement that is human derived, serum-free, and cost effective for human mesenchymal stem cell cultures.
Features and Benefits of PLTMax:
Increased cell growth kinetics vs. FBS supplemented media
Cost effective alternative to serum free media
Manufactured to reduce lot-to-lot variation
Stable supply and price
Human derived material applicable for translational research applications

PLTMax supports better growth of hMSCs than DMEM + FBS. A: Growth of hMSCs cultured in αMEM supplemented with 5 % HPL or 10 % FBS as compared to DMEM + 10 % FBS over 4 passages in T150 flasks, or B: in duplicate 125 mL spinner flasks f or 7 days, demonstrating enhanced growth in αMEM + HPL
Osteogeneisis is the process of laying down new bone material by cells called osteoblasts. It is synonymous with bone tissue formation and is often studied for disease such as osteoporosis, arthritis and bone fracture regeneration.
Mesenchymal Stem Cell Media - OsteoMAX-XF™ Differentiation Medium
Differentiation of multiple human mesenchymal stem cell lines using OsteoMAX-XF™ Differentiation Medium (EMD Millipore Cat. No. SCM121); (ii) Supplier LT Osteogenic Differentiation Kit. Differentiation was induced over 21 days in 48-well plate cultures of four different human MSC cell lines (Promocell and Life Technologies). Alizarin Red staining of representative wells at day 7, 14 and 21 are shown.
Merck’s OsteoMAX-XF™ Differentiation Medium is specially formulated to readily differentiate human mesenchymal stem cells into the osteogenic lineage as assessed by alizarin red and alkaline phosphatase staining. This proprietary formulation was developed using Plasticell’s CombiCult™, a patented, bead-based, combinatorial technology specially developed for discovery of novel stem cell differentiation protocols.
Advantages of OsteoMAX-XF™:
Serum-free, xeno-free, defined medium formulation
Rapid, robust, and highly efficient mineralization and bone nodule formation in standard tissue culture system by as early as 7 days of differentiation.
Proven to work in 3D BioPrinting applications
“OsteoMAX-XF produces tissue of impressive osteogenic potential, including key bone-specific and mineralization markers. We found we could rapidly fabricate functional, fully human tissue derived from MSCs and the ECM proteins they produce using the NovoGen MMX 3D-Bioprinter” Dr. Eric Michael David MD JD, Chief Strategy Officer of Organovo
Adipogenesis is the process of cell differentiation by which cells become adipocytes of fat producing cells. Adipogenesis has been one of the most intensively studied model of cellular differentiation and is often studied for energy metabolism, diabetes and obesity research.
Mesenchymal Stem Cell Adipogenesis Kit - Merck's Mesenchymal Stem Cell Adipogenesis Kit contains reagents that readily differentiate mesenchymal stem cells to an adipogenic lineage (dexamethasone, IBMX, insulin and indomethacin) as assessed with Oil Red O staining of lipid vacuoles in mature adipocytes. Along with Oil Red O staining solution, a hematoxylin solution is provided to counterstain the cell nucleus.
