Background InformationUM-SCC-22B is a unique head and neck squamous carcinoma cell line established from the metastatic lymph node in the neck of a female patient (1, 2). UM-SCC-22B is negative for HPV-16, HPV-18, Hepatitis A, B, C, and HIV-1 & 2 viruses.

UM-SCC-22B was established at the University of Michigan with written informed consent obtained from the patient and with the approval of the study by the Medical School Institutional Review Board .
