Key Applications Immunoblotting (Western Blotting)
Immunohistochemistry
Immunoprecipitation
Application NotesImmunoblotting (1:1000, see application references)
Frozen Sections (see application references)
Paraffin Sections (see application references)
Immunoprecipitation (see comments)
ELISA (see application references)
Application CommentsFor a pre-adsorption control use 5 µg positive control protein for each µg of antibody. For immunoblotting use 20 ng positive control protein per lane (minigel). This antibody is also reported to work for immunoprecipitation. Antibody should be titrated for optimal use in individual systems.

DescriptionRabbit polyclonal antibody pre-adsorbed against immobilized GST, followed by protein A purification. Recognizes the ~25 kDa SNAP-25 protein. Supplied with a positive control consisting of lyophilized SNAP-25-GST fusion protein.
BackgroundSNAP-25 (synaptosome-associated protein of ~25 kDa) is an integral membrane protein localized to the plasma membrane of pre-synaptic axon terminals. As a component of the receptor for SNAPs (Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor [NSF] Attachment Proteins), SNAP-25 appears to play a critical role in the docking and fusion of pre-synaptic vesicles during exocytosis of neurotransmitters. This anti-SNAP-25 antibody was raised against a highly purified fusion protein of Schistosoma japonicum glutathione-S-transferase (GST) and rat SNAP-25.
