Application Comments	For immunocytochemistry, colcemid-arrested HeLa cells were fixed with 1% paraformaldehyde. Also detects histone H3 in Tetrahymena micronuclei. The antibody has been reported to detect mitotic cells in Xenopus, Caenorhabditis elegans, and Drosophila embryos. Does not cross-react with unphosphorylated histone H3. This antibody has also been reported to work for immunohistochemistry. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the optimal working dilution.

Description	Protein A purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~17 kDa histone H3 protein phosphorylated at Ser¹⁰.
Background	Histone H1 and H3 phosphorylations correlate with the process of chromosome condensation. H3 mRNA-positive cells are most often found in tissues with a high proliferation rate, such as basal cells of the skin and crypt cells of the intestine.
