Synonyms2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl)-1-azabicyclo[2,2,2]octan-3-one, p53 Reactivation and Induction of Massive Apoptosis
DescriptionA cell-permeable quinuclidinone analog with anti-tumor properties. Induces p53-dependent apoptosis in human tumor cells through restoration of the transcriptional transactivation function to mutant p53. Restores sequence-specific DNA binding and active conformation to mutant p53 proteins in vitro and in living cells. Suppresses tumor growth in mice with no apparent toxicity. Induces apoptosis in breast cancer cells expressing mutant p53.
