Chromogenic substrate used in conjunction with IPTG. Together they produce blue/white colony selection. Stock solutions X-Gal 20 mg/ml in DMF/IPTG-20 mg/ml in water. Use 4: 1 (X-Gal: IPTG). Molecular biology grade.
