      Applications
      Key Applications Enzyme Immunoassay
      Immunohistochemistry
      Application NotesEIA (1:1,000)
      Tissue Staining (1:50 - 1:100)
Application CommentsMake a stock solution by dissolving in DMF (DMSO and methanol should also work). Suggested concentration for stock solution is 5 mg/ml. Dilute stock solution with appropriate buffer for assay just prior to use. For tissue staining, suggested usage is to dilute stock solution to 1 mg/ml and then dilute that solution 1:50 - 1:100. For EIA, follow the same procedure, but dilute the 1 mg/ml solution 1:1,000. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

      Revision13-September-2007 RFH
      ApplicationEIA (1:1,000)
      Tissue Staining (1:50 - 1:100)
DescriptionAvidin (and streptavidin) has 4 binding sites for biotin. Taking advantage of the high affinity between avidin and biotin, this fluorescein-conjugated biotin-X (a 6-atom spacer) provides a method for fluorescent detection of biotinylated antibodies.
      FormLyophilized orange solid
Recommended reaction conditionsFor tissue staining, suggested usage is to dilute stock solution to 1 mg/ml and then dilute that solution 1:50-1:100. For EIA, follow the same procedure, but dilute the 1 mg/ml solution 1:1000.
      SolubilityDMF (5 mg/ml), DMSO (5 mg/ml), or Methanol (5 mg/ml)
