As a leader in vaccine manufacturing processes, Merck is committed to lending a hand in making information quickly available to vaccine manufacturers in developing countries. Recently, we partnered with DCVMN (Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers' Network), a non-profit organization that aims to foster a consistent supply of quality vaccines accessible to emerging countries. DCVMN's focus is not only to share manufacturing know-how and technology, but also gear up for extended local and global vaccine access.
Merck acts as a knowledge and resource partner, sharing technical knowledge and scientific expertise with professionals of DCVMN members on downstream processing with a special emphasis on aseptic processing. We are proud to have been able to participate in a number of DCVMN events – in just 2013 we've presented at several regional workshops and at the annual meeting on topics such as process scale up, validation and implementation of single-use technology. To further educate professionals in this space, we've also hosted an extremely well attended live webinar on "Aseptic Vaccine Process Validation - Sterile Filter Focus." in association with DCVMN. We look forward to continuing this educational program partnership with DCVMN and to further share our expertise in the vaccine arena to the benefit of people in developing countries.
