DescriptionAnti-CLPP, clone 6G7.3
Alternate Names
  • Putative ATP-dependent Clp protease proteolytic subunit, mitochondrial
  • Endopeptidase ClpP1
  • pClpP
Background InformationPutative ATP-dependent Clp protease proteolytic subunit, mitochondrial, also known as Endopeptidase Clp, and encoded by the gene name CLPP, belongs to the peptidase family S14 and hydrolyzes proteins into small peptides in the presence of ATP and magnesium. CLPP is transported into mitochondrial matrix and is associated with the inner mitochondrial membrane. CLPP may be responsible for a fairly general and central housekeeping function rather than for the degradation of specific substrates.
