      Background InformationBAT3, also known as protein G3 or HLA-B associated transcript 3, is a nuclear protein. Little is known about the function of BAT3; however, it has been shown to regulate apoptosis. In addition, BAT3 deficient mice had developmental defects in their lungs, kidneys, and brains. Human BAT3, orthologous to rat BAT3, is primarily expressed in the testis.
