DescriptionStem Cell Factor Protein, Recombinant mouse
OverviewStem Cell Factor (SCF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity at the early stages of hematopoiesis. SCF stimulates the proliferation of myeloid, erythroid, and lymphoid progenitors in bone marrow cultures and has been shown to act synergistically with colony stimulating factors. Murine SCF is an 18.3 kDa protein containing 164 amino acid residues.

Applications
ApplicationThe Stem Cell Factor (SCF) Protein, Recombinant mouse, is a hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity at the early stages of hematopoiesis.
Application NotesConcentration Range for most in vitro applications is 1.0 - 100 ng/mL. Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.
Biological Information
PurityGreater than 98% by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per μg of SCF.
SourceE. coli
Specific ActivityMurine SCF is biologically active when compared to standards. The ED(50), as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of the human TF-1 cell line is <= 10 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of >= 1x10e5 units/mg.

Usage Statement
  • Unless otherwise stated in our catalog or other company documentation accompanying the product(s), our products are intended for research use only and are not to be used for any other purpose, which includes but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial uses, in vitro diagnostic uses, ex vivo or in vivo therapeutic uses or any type of consumption or application to humans or animals.
Storage and Shipping Information
Storage ConditionsThe lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature, is best stored at -20°C for up to 12 months from date of receipt. After a quick spin, reconstitute with sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions and stored at 4°C for one week or at -20°C for future use. Reconstituted mouse SCF should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C for up to six months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
