Direct connection of solvent containers to HPLC instruments ensures both safe and eco-friendly solvent handling. Merck HPLC adapters drastically reduce potentially harmful solvent vapor emissions in the lab. They thus effectively protect your employees as well as the environment and help to reduce solvent consumption.
Solvent supply and disposal are conducted through tubes of 3 mm outside diameter. Two adapter versions are available: An adapter for solvent supply and one for disposal solvents. The adapter for solvent supply is equipped with an air valve which opens when the HPLC pump is operating and closes when it stops. This way, the solvents are protected from contamination with dust particles while the bottle is emptied. The waste solvent adapter, on the other hand, includes an exhaust air filter containing special filter granulates (activated carbon). This prevents harmful emissions when the overpressure from filling a bottle with solvent is released. In order to optimize your workflow, the caps of both HPLC bottle adapters are fully rotatable (360°). This way the bottle can be exchanged quickly without turning the capillaries out of position. Moreover, these capillaries are affixed to the adapter so that they cannot slide out of the bottle. This effectively prevents air from being absorbed which would force the HPLC instruments to be taken offline.
