OverviewA phytoestrogenic isoflavone found in soy-based foods. Displays potent antioxidant properties and acts as a selective inhibitor of the γ-isoform of alcohol dehydrogenase. Shown to interact with human estrogen receptors with low potency. Induces mammary gland proliferation in mice.

Induces mammary gland proliferation in mice. Inhibits lecithin peroxidation induced by hydroxyl radicals. Also acts as a selective inhibitor of γ-isoform of alcohol dehydrogenase.
