DescriptionNative ascorbate oxidase from Cucurbita species. A multi-copper-containing oxidase that catalyzes oxidation of ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid. AO catalyses the four-electron reduction of dioxygen to water with concominant one-electron oxidation of the reducing organic substrate. Suitable for eliminating interference of ascorbic acid in clinical assays and for determination of ascorbic acid. Inhibited by azide, dithiocarbamate, and thiocyanate.
