Control
  • CONTROL ANTIGEN: Included free of charge with the antibody is 40 μg of control antigen. The stock solution of the antigen can be made up using 100 μL of sterile distilled water. For negative control, preincubate 1 μg of peptide with 1 μg of antibody for one hour at room temperature. Optimal concentrations must be determined by the end user.
PresentationLyophilized from phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA, and 0.025% sodium azide as a preservative. Reconstitute with 200 μL of sterile deionized water. Centrifuge antibody preparation before use (10,000 xg for 5 min.)
Quality LevelMQ100
Applications
ApplicationDetect Potassium Channel TREK-1 using this Anti-Potassium Channel TREK-1 Antibody validated for use in WB.
Key Applications
  • Western Blotting
Application NotesWestern blot: 1:200 using ECL on rat brain membranes.

Dilutions should be made using a carrier protein such as BSA (1-3%)

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.
Biological Information
ImmunogenSynthetic peptide corresponding amino acids 8-28 of human TREK-1 (Accession numbers AAF89743, AAD47569).
ConcentrationPlease refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
HostRabbit
SpecificityRecognizes TREK-1 (Twik-Related K+ Channel 1, Kcnk2). The epitope does not share homology with any other known proteins.
Species Reactivity
  • Human
  • Rat
Species Reactivity Note It is expected that the antibody will also react with mouse due to sequence homology (17/18). Other species have not been tested.
Antibody TypePolyclonal Antibody
Entrez Gene Number
Entrez Gene SummaryThis gene encodes one of the members of the two-pore-domain background potassium channel protein family. This type of potassium channel is formed by two homodimers that create a channel that leaks potassium out of the cell to control resting membrane potential. The channel can be opened, however, by certain anesthetics, membrane stretching, intracellular acidosis, and heat. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
