      DescriptionAnti-LGI1 Antibody
      Alternate Names
      • Leucine-rich glioma inactivated protein 1
      • Epitempin-1
Background InformationLeucine-rich glioma inactivated gene 1 (LGI1), also known as Epitempin-1 (EPT), is a member of a family of highly related proteins containing leucine-rich repeats (LRRs) regulating voltage-gated potassium channels assembled from KCNA1, KCNA4 and KCNAB1. LGI1 may play a role in the control of neuroblastoma cell survival and may play a role in other cancers. It is expressed in neural tissue, especially brain. Mutations in LGI1 have been associated with nearly half of autodominant lateral temporal epilepsy (ADTLE).
