      Applications
ApplicationThis Anti-CD28 Antibody, clone 15E8 is validated for use in FC, FUNC for the detection of CD28.
      Key Applications
      • Flow Cytometry
      • Affects Function
Application NotesTo study the role of CD28 in T cell proliferation. The antibody will induce the proliferation of resting T lymphocytes.

This antibody will act in cell stimulation studies where it has been suggested that measuring T cell function in HIV infected asymptomatic patients may be an early indicator of AIDS, independent of CD4 + cell counts

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

SpecificityThis antibody reacts with the 44 kDa antigen found on a sub-population of T cells and activated B cells. These CD28+ CD8 cells are now known to be cytotoxic T cell precursors. The antibody does not react with B cells, granulocytes or monocytes. The ligand for CD28 is CD80 (B7) which is found on activated B cells suggesting a role for CD28 in T and B cell interaction
