Description
OverviewRecombinant, human mTOR consisting of amino acids 1360-2549 fused at the N-terminus to DYKDDDDK sequence and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. mTOR is a ubiquitously expressed, serine/threonine protein kinase regulated by growth factor signaling, amino acid availability, and energy levels. mTOR activity is inhibited by rapamycin as well as broad spectrum PI 3-kinase inhibitors. The catalytically active enzyme is useful for inhibitor screening. Active in kinase assay using the K-LISA™ mTOR (Recombinant) Activity Kit, Cat. No. CBA104.
