DescriptionUbcH7 Conjugating Enzyme, 100 µg
OverviewUbcH7 is a class I enzyme which functions in the stress response and the control of transcription factors. The enzyme is ubiquitously expressed with high levels of expression seen in adult muscle. It has been demonstrated to participate in the ubiquitinylation of p53, c-Fos and NF-κB. UbcH7 is one of two E2s (UbcH5 being the other) with which HECT domain proteins interact with UbcH7 being able to efficiently substitute for UbcH5 in E6-AP-dependent ubiquitinylation. Typical enzyme concentration to support conjugation in vitro is 100nM to 1μM depending upon conditions.

Entrez Gene Number
Entrez Gene SummaryThe modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. This gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. The encoded protein shares 100% sequence identity with the mouse counterpart. This gene is ubiquitously expressed, with high expression seen in adult muscle. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
