Description
OverviewNative PKGIα purified from bovine lung. PKG is involved in regulation of smooth muscle relaxation, platelet function, and cell division. PKG is activated by binding of cGMP to regulatory subunits within the holoenzyme, but in contrast to PKA, the activation of PKG does not invlove physical dissociation of catalytic from the regulatory domains. The activated enzyme phosphorylates target proteins at serine and/or threonine residues that are found within the recognition motif, Arg-Lys-Arg-Ser*-Arg-Ala-Glu.
Note: 4µg = 6000 units.
