DescriptionPARP (poly-(ADP-ribose) poly-merase is a monomeric Zn2+ -finger protein present in the nucleus in an inactive form. This enzyme is activated in the presence of nicked or damaged DNA, and using NAD + as a substrate, it catalyzes the formation of polymer poly(ADP-ribose) and covalent modification of different acceptor nuclear proteins.
