Analyzed Dual Parameter Data: Dot plots depicting Jurkat cells treated with multiple inducers and stained using MitoDamage Kit. Jurkat cells were treated with 2 µM Staurosporine or 50 µM CCCP and then stained using the MitoDamage Kit. Plots show the percentage of positive cells for 1) Apoptosis (Annexin V binding) and mitochondrial membrane potential change (Red2), 2) Cell death and mitochondrial membrane potential change, and 3) apoptosis and cell death.

Cell Growth & Tracking

The Guava EasyCyte™ Cell Growth reagent uses a simple, non-radioactive protocol for measurement of cell growth by a combination of carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester (CFSE) and Propidium Iodide (PI). The kit can be used to measure growth out to five generations.

Applications for EasyCyte™ Cell Growth Reagent:

  • Track division in primary cells or cell cultures
  • Screen for compounds that affect cell proliferation
  • Verify health of cell cultures by monitoring cell division

Autophagy Kits

Merck’s FlowCellect™ GFP-LC3 Reporter Autophagy Assay Kits provide a quantitative solution for studying autophagy and measuring potency of autophagy inducers using flow cytometry.

Two host cell lines are offered in either CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary) or U20S (human osteosarcoma) to assist in your autophagy research. The CHO reporter cell line is ideal for flow cytometry applications, while U20S is suitable for both imaging and flow cytometry.

The following products are now available for use to evaluate autophagy:

Description
FlowCellect™ GFP-LC3 Reporter Autophagy Assay Kit (CHO)
FlowCellect™ RFP-LC3 Reporter Autophagy Assay Kit
FlowCellect™ Autophagy LC3 Antibody-based Assay Kit
FlowCellect™ Autophagy Detection Reagent Pack

Features:

  • Format uses GFP-LC3 stable reporter cell line with monomeric GFP for detecting the rate of autophagy by flow cytometry
  • Precise and quantitative method utilizes selective permeabilization and lysosomal inhibition to remove cytosolic LC3 while retaining lipidated LC3 for detection once it enters the autophagosome.
  • Reusable cell line and reagent pack provides low cost per sample View user guide for Autophagy kits

Cell Cycle

Cell cycle phase distributions can be used to assess cell health, proliferation, as well as the potential mechanism of antineoplastic agents. For example, measuring the population of S phase cells can reflect the amount of newly synthesized DNA. Also, distinguishing cells in G2 from M phase cells can help identify cells undergoing mitosis.

Guava and FlowCellect™ Kits for Cell Cycle provide many advantages for evaluation of cell cycle.

  • Combines directly conjugated antibodies and/or fluorescent dyes and protein reporters
  • The kits also contain complete buffer sets, protocols and pre-defined gate settings so they require no compensation.
  • They are fully optimized for "plug-and-play" cellular analysis on Guava easyCyte™ and other flow cytometry instruments.
