Cell culture media specialist Biochrom joins Merck

With the upcoming acquisition of Biochrom AG*, we look forward to offering pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturers even more ways to reduce the complexity of production. Biochrom's innovative product range features liquid cell culture media and buffers, including serum-free products and disposable packaging solutions.

"With Biochrom, we have a great opportunity to meet that demand by expanding our existing portfolio."

*Closing of the transaction is expected for Q4/2012. Biochrom AG (Berlin) specializes in producing and marketing cell culture media and buffer solutions. In 2011, the company employed around 60 employees, and achieved revenues of approximately €13 million.
