Background InformationER lipid raft associated 1 (UniProt B1WBY7; also known as Protein Erlin1, SPFH domain family, member 1) is encoded by the Erlin1 (also known as RGD1307058 or Spfh1_predicted) gene in rat (Entrez Gene ID 293939; ORF rCG_57742). Erlin1 (Spfh1) and the highly homologous Erlin2 (Spfh2) are ER proteins that hetero-oligomerize into a large complex of ∼2 MDa. The erlin1/2 complex associates with inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP(3)) receptors on ER membrane and is responsible for recruiting RNF170 upon IP(3) receptor activation for subsequent ubiquitination-dependent receptor downregulation (PMID 19240031, 21610068, 22020079). Cat. No. ABS1611, ERLIN1/SPFH1, C-terminus, is an affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody against rat Erlin1/Spfh1 C-terminal end sequence. This polyclonal antibody is reactive toward rat and murine, but not human, species (PMID 19240031).
