Applications
Key Applications Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay
Immunoblotting (Western Blotting)
Application NotesDirect Immunoassay (1:5000)
Application CommentsBinds ≥99% to human IgG immobilized on a column. o-Phenylenediamine, 1 mg/ml in citrate buffer, pH 4.5, 0.1% urea hydrogen peroxide at 25°C, is used for testing immunoenzyme reactivity Purity of the recombinant protein G has been determined by presence of a single band at M.W. 33,800 on a 15% SDS-polyacrylamide gel. Specifically binds the Fc region of IgG from various species. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

ApplicationDirect Immunoassay (1:5000)
DescriptionPurified recombinant protein G conjugated to peroxidase.
BackgroundProtein G is a cell-surface protein of Streptococcus species that binds to the Fc portions of immunoglobulins from various species. Like protein A, it is a versatile and economic means to isolate, detect and purify antibodies produced by many animals. Protein G is especially valued because of its ability to react with Human IgG3 and a number of animal immunoglobulins with which protein A does not react well (i.e. bovine, goat, horse, rat and sheep). It also reacts more strongly with mouse immunoglobulins than protein A. Additionally, unlike protein A, it does not react with IgA, IgE and IgM.
