A History of Innovation
The roots of the UTCB go back to Skywing Bio-Tech Co., Ltd., a company which was established in 2004 and acquired by Merck KGaA only seven years later.
Having drafted the China Chemical Industry Standard, Mammalian Cell Culture Media, as well as the China Pharmaceutical Equipment Standard, Mechanical Stirred-tank Bioreactor for Animal Cell Culture, the UTCB develops and sets new industry standards. We were also the first to develop the technology of FMDV low-serum/serum-free suspension production in bioreactors in China. The resulting achievement of large-scale cell culture technology has contributed to the upgrading of the Chinese vaccine industry, ranging from roller bottle to bioreactor process.
