      Key Applications Free-floating Sections
      Frozen Sections
      Immunocytochemistry
      Immunofluorescence
      Paraffin Sections
      Application NotesFrozen Sections (5 µg/ml)
      Immunofluorescence (5 µg/ml)
      Paraffin Sections (5 µg/ml, heat pre-treament required)
      Immunocytochemistry (see application references)
Free Floating Sections (see application references)
Application CommentsWell suited for IHC and IF studies of oligodendrocytes and optic nerves due to the antibody's staining of the cell body as opposed to the myelinated processes. Both frozen sections and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded brain sections can be used. Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.

DescriptionPurified mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing CB6 F1 mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splonocytes with SP2/O mouse myeloma cells. Recognizes the ~312 kDa APC protein.
BackgroundGerm line mutations in the APC gene are responsible for familial adenomatous polyposis and somatic mutations contribute to sporadic colorectal cancer. The 312 kDa APC protein is expressed in all tissues and localized to the cytoskeletal architecture in an insoluble complex with β-catenin. The APC (Ab-7) mouse monoclonal antibody clone CC-1 decorates oligodendrocyte cell bodies, purkinje cells, astrocytes, and optic nerve cell bodies of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded, or fresh frozen sections from human, mouse, and rat brain. Dectection of APC (Ab-7) can be perfomed using immunofluorescence or immunohistochemistry techniques.
