      OverviewAn esterase-sensitive and cell permeable, O2-acetoxymethylated diazeniumdiolate that acts as an intracellular nitric oxide (NO) donor (1.83 mol of NO/mol). Shown to induce apoptosis and to act as an antiproliferative agent in NO-sensitive human leukemia HL-60 (IC50 = 8.3 µM) and U937 (IC50 = 53 µM) cell lines. Also suppresses oxidized low-density lipoprotein-induced caspase-3 activation in bovine aortic endothelial cells. Exhibits enhanced stability in physiological buffers. May also be useful for temporal and spatial controlled NO availability.

Shown to induce apoptosis and act as an antiproliferative agent in NO-sensitive human leukemia HL-60 (IC50 = 8.3 µM) and U937 (IC50 = 53 µM) cell lines. Also suppresses oxidized low-density lipoprotein-induced caspase-3 activation (~5 µM) in bovine aortic endothelial cells. Useful for temporal and spatial controlled NO availability.
