      BackgroundAvidin is a 68,000 M.W. tetrameric biotin-binding glycoprotein with four high affinity binding sites (dissociation constant of 10-15 M). Conjugated avidin may be used to enhance the sensitivities of immunoassays, DNA probes, and immunocytochemical techniques.
