      Description
      OverviewNative factor D from human serum. Single-chain glycoprotein composed of 222 amino acids, present in normal human serum at about 1.4 µg/ml. Serine protease that cleaves, and thus activates, Factor B during activation of complement via the alternative pathway. Has recently been shown to be identical to adipsin, a serine protease secreted into the bloodstream by adipocytes.
