DescriptionPurified mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with SP2/O mouse myeloma cells. Recognizes the ~100 kDa MSH2 protein.
BackgroundThe MSH2 gene is one of at least 4 genes encoding proteins involved in the repair of mismatch nucleotides following DNA replication or repair. Mutations in the MSH2 gene contribute to the development of sporadic colorectal carcinoma, while germline MSH2 mutations are responsible for ~50% of inherited, non-polyposis colorectal carcinoma (HNPCC). MSH2 encodes a protein of 934 amino acids.
