OverviewA cell-permeable blocker of intracellular calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum that acts by binding to the ryanodine receptor. Inhibits long-term depression and depotentiation of synaptic transmission. Has neuroprotective effects in cases of cerebral ischemia.
