Les cellules à agitation Amicon procurent des débits élevés avec les solutions contenant jusqu'à 10 % de macrosolutés. La même unité permet de réaliser une concentration rapide ou un dessalage suivi d'une concentration. Une récupération totale de l'échantillon est en général possible en utilisant la configuration de diafiltration présentée ci-dessous.
L'agitation douce par barreau aimanté minimise la formation d'une couche de polarisation et la dénaturation par cisaillement. Toutes les cellules à agitation peuvent être autoclavées.
