DescriptionBioTracker™ Green pH-Independent Autophagy Live Cell Probe
OverviewSCT276 is a small fluorescent molecule that detects autophagosomes and autolysosomes by a likely mechanism of incorporation into the autophagosome double membrane during its formation, whereupon it emits fluorescence under hydrophobic conditions. This probe has been noted to frequently colocalize with LC3.

SPECTRAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Excitation λ: 450 nm
Emission λ: 535 nm
Alternate Names
  • green autophagy probe
  • autophagosome live cell probe
  • green autophagosome probe
  • green AP live cell probe
Background InformationAutophagy is an intracellular degradation system, where dysfunctional proteins and organelles are degraded. In this process, dysfunctional proteins aggregate and are enclosed by a double membrane to form an autophagosome.

  • Flow Cytometry
  • Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS)
Application NotesSCT276 detects autophagosomes and autolysosomes by the likely mechanism of incorporation into the autophagosome during double membrane formation, and emits green fluorescence under hydrophobic conditions. SCT276 is cell permeable, does not require transfection, and enables live cell imaging with fluorescence microscopy and quantitative assay by flow cytometry.

Add 50 uL DMSO to tube of SCT276 (5 nmol) and pipet to dissolve to make a 0.1 mM stock solution. Dilute with culture medium to 0.1 - 0.5 uM to make working solution.
