Key Spec Table

Empirical Formula
C₃₃H₄₃N₇O₉
Description
OverviewAn amino and carboxy-terminal blocked tetra peptide that acts as a specific, competitive inhibitor of the protease activity of asparagine endopeptidase (AEP), an enzyme that cleaves substrates on the C-terminal side of asparagine. Believed to act as a competitive substrate that itself is hydrolyzed by AEP. Shown to block processing of tetanus toxin antigen (TTCF) in vitro (~1 mg/ml) and retard TTCF presentation to T cells in vivo. Does not affect the cleavage of cathepsin B/L and cathepsin S substrates. Shown to selectively and completely suppress tau cleavage by AEP (~ 1 mg/ml).

Please note that the molecular weight for this compound is batch-specific due to variable water content. Please refer to the vial label or the certificate of analysis for the batch-specific molecular weight. The molecular weight provided represents the baseline molecular weight without water.
