Reuptake and Vesicle Transporters | |
---|---|
The regulation of synaptic transmission depends upon manipulating the concentration and longevity of neurotransmitter in the synaptic cleft. Post-release, this regulation often involves the reuptake of the neurotransmitter and ultimately the packaging of new or recycled neurotransmitter into presynaptic vesicles. Millipore's numerous antibodies against reuptake-related proteins are often used as postsynaptic or perisynaptic markers. Vesicle transporters are restricted presynaptically, and Chemicon antibodies from Millipore against related proteins make excellent presynaptic markers. | ![]() VGLUT1 is expressed in a subset of glutamatergic neurons and transports glutamate into native synaptic vesicles. Anti-VGLUT1 (Cat. No. AB5905) mainly labels nerve fibers and terminals.
