General description
Shown to inhibit protein synthesis through ADP-ribosylation of elongation factor 2. Cytopathic for a number of cell lines and exhibits toxicity in animals. Has enzymatic activity identical to that of diphtheria toxin, however it has distinct target-cell specificities and is immunologically unrelated.
